President Marcos vowed to protect Filipinos amid China’s recent policy to detain those who will trespass into the South China Sea, saying such a policy is unacceptable.

President Marcos said that photos of him with embattled Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo do not prove that he knows her and that the investigation into her citizenship continues.
Marcos said this after Guo uploaded photos of her and the President on Thursday, May 16, after the Chief Executive claimed that he did not know her. More photos of her and Marcos during one of the campaign sorties in 2022 also surfaced this week.
