Two men were held in connection with the murder of 32 year old Samuel Maharaj alias Shooter of Whim Tobago, while one of the two cars involved in the incident was intercepted by police ..

The island's 10th murder victim, Maharaj was shot dead in a drive-by in Mt. Grace Tobago on Saturday night. More from Elizabeth Williams.

The Prime Minister says he had "no role" in what he called the "public spat" between the Attorney General's Office, Finance Ministry, the Central Bank, the Office of the Auditor General over what the Government is calling an error in its public accounts for fiscal 2023.

Speaking today shoortly after his return from an official foreign trip, the Prime Minitser said the matter, like "so many other things" has "been converted into an unnecessary dangerous bachannal."

While fraudulent activity relating to debit cards are on a decline, the opposite is true as it pertains to credit card fraud.


The Bankers Association of T&T has provided insight into what customers should look out for when shopping online to better protect their information.


BATT has also responded to claims by the police that getting information on fraud from banks is a very slow process.

In October of 2023, thousands of debit and credit card users across the country experienced duplication in their payments that were made between the months of August and September of that year.


At a Joint Select Committee on Finance and Legal Affairs held on Friday, TV6 News posed the question to the Bankers Association of T&T, as to exactly what caused the problem and what measures have been implemented to prevent it from reoccurring.
