Tim Allen Opens Up About 'Home Improvement,' 'Last Man Standing' And Getting A Third Chance With His New Sitcom

Tim Allen seemingly has no problem landing a job, which is why he’s worked within the TV space on a relatively consistent basis over the years. At this point, the veteran actor has been away from network TV for a few years, since the conclusion of his ABC/Fox sitcom "Last Man Standing." However, he’s now heading back to the alphabet network for a new show and, after it was announced, he opened up about getting a third major chance at headlining a comedy. While sharing thoughts, he also recalled his stints on "LMS" and "Home Improvement."

ABC ordered a pilot for a brand-new show called "Shifting Gears," which will see the 70-year-old actor play a widow and classic car shop proprietor. The somewhat stubborn man eventually finds his life turned upside down when his estranged daughter and teenage grandkids move in with him. After the series was reported to be in the works, ET caught up with the leading man and tried to get some details.Flast

'Star Wars: The Bad Batch’s' Michelle Ang Opens Up About Omega’s Evolution In Season 3, Offers Advice If The Character Is Played In Live-action

When Clone Force 99, a.k.a. The Bad Batch, scored their own spinoff after being introduced early on in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, they were joined by Omega, a female clone of Jango Fett who, like Boba Fett, ages at a normal rate. Omega’s come a long way during her time with Hunter, Wrecker, Echo and the late Tech, and with Star Wars: The Bad Batch’s third and final season about to begin, Michelle Ang, who voices Omega, opened up to CinemaBlend about the young character’s evolution in Season 3. Additionally, if Omega is ever played in live-action, Ang provided some advice to the hypothetical actress who’d take over the role.

During my chat with Ang, I pointed out how in The Bad Batch Season 1, Omega was a sheltered child who was finally got to experience freedom for the first time when the title group took her off Kamino and brought her along on their travels. Then in Season 2, we watched Omega become a capable soldier who could handle herself in the field much better. So regarding Season 3, I asked the actress what she thinks is the biggest way Omega has evolved for this new batch (pardon the pun) of episodes.

'NCIS: Origins' Just Cast Its Third Returning Character With An Actor Who's Already Appeared In The Franchise

Mark Harmon may have departed NCIS three years ago, but Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ story lives on… well, at least in the past. The upcoming prequel show NCIS: Origins will chronicle Gibbs joining the law enforcement agency in 1991, with Austin Stowell playing the younger version of the character. We also recently learned that Kyle Schmid will play the younger Mike Franks, who’s leading the ragtag team that Gibbs is on. Now it’s been revealed who’s playing Origins’ third returning NCIS character, and it’s an actor who’s already appeared in the franchise.

Why William Shatner Allegedly Blocked Kirstie Alley From Returning For 'Star Trek 3,' According To A Trek Documentarian

Space may be the final frontier in the "Star Trek" world, but apparently, earthbound grudges can still travel quite keenly through the vastness of space. "Icons Unearthed" director Brian Volk-Weiss knows that firsthand, as an interview he conducted for another project involving Gene Roddenberry’s “Wagon Train to the stars” saw "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’s" Kirstie Alley tell a story about how William Shatner allegedly blocked her from returning for the next film in the series that gave us some of the best sci-fi movies.

It Sounds Like Camila Alves Actually Wasn't So Keen When Matthew Mcconaughey Initially Moved His Family From California To Texas

When Matthew McConaughey moved with his wife Camila Alves and their kids from noted LA-area beach town Malibu to Austin, Texas ten years ago, it seemed like a good fit. Alves spoke out about how they didn’t have a ton of privacy thanks to McConaughey’s stardom in tinseltown and Texas offered a lot of opportunity for a fresh start. But in some more recent comments the mom of three clarified her stance on when they first moved.

In fact, while the paparazzi-on-the-doorstep piece might be true, it was only one piece of the puzzle. In fact, Alves said she was very happy in Southern California, but marriage in general is a compromise and living there also came with drawbacks, as noted prior.

'Avatar: The Way Of Water' Cast: Where You’ve Seen The Stars Before

For the longest time, it seemed as if those "Avatar" sequels were going to be the sorts of movies that languished in development hell forever. However, over the last few years the wheels continued to turn, and finally, the first of James Cameron’s multiple sequels has landed on the big screen. The highly-anticipated sci-fi epic is already receiving heaps of praise from critics, including CinmaBlend’s own Corey Chichizola, who have all drawn attention to the visuals, story, and outstanding performances in "Avatar: The Way of Water."

Speaking of the "Avatar: The Way of Water" cast… There’s a good chance you want to know to know who all is appearing in James Cameron’s first movie in more than a decade, whether it be returning stars like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver, or the list of newcomers that includes Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, and many others. Let’s take a look at all the actors and where you’ve seen them before…

Anna Paquin Reflects On Filming 'X-Men' Before Hugh Jackman Became A ‘Humongous’ Superstar, Says Fame Hasn’t Changed Him

Anna Paquin has acted alongside many former and current Hollywood stars over the decades. She watched an unknown Australian actor named Hugh Jackman go from a Hollywood unknown to a movie superstar. Two decades after Jackman’s Hollywood breakthrough role, Paquin reflected on filming X-Men with the then-unknown actor before film stardom and fame did not change him.

When Paquin joined the film as southern belle Rogue, she already had several hit movies and an Oscar win under her belt despite being a high school senior. Jackman, on the other hand, played Wolverine in the first X-Men movie, which was only his third feature film. Of course, his superstar moment almost didn’t happen because of doubts over Jackman's demeanor and physicality.

Whoopi Goldberg Took Personal Offense After Former 'The View' Co-Star Joy Behar Explained Why She Was 'Happy' To Be Fired

Sometimes the best thing about a job is the friendships you make at work. It’s nice — if not necessary — to have people who understand what you go through for a good chunk of the waking hours of your day. The recently re-signed ladies of "The View" certainly seem to know the power of a good work bestie, and that’s why moderator Whoopi Goldberg got a little bit in her feelings on a recent episode of the ABC talk show, after longtime co-host Joy Behar said she was “happy” she was fired from the series in 2013, because all her friends had left.

In discussion about how the pandemic and working remotely has affected people’s ability to have a work best friend, Joy Behar offered her strong opinion to her colleagues on "The View." She stated that if she didn’t have friends at work, she did not want to be there anymore.

James Cameron Recalls Almost Losing Leo DiCaprio In 'Titanic': ‘You Change One Element And It Doesn’t Work'

James Cameron is a filmmaker with many beloved projects, who is known for pushing the limits of what film and visual/practical effects are capable of. One of his most iconic movies is definitely "Titanic," which was a sensation that became the highest grossing films of all time. It also made a megastar of Leonardo DiCaprio, although Cameron recently recalled almost losing him for "Titanic," saying “you change one element and it doesn’t work.” Could we have gotten another king of the world?

"Titanic" was released back in 1997, when Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were still young stars in Hollywood. But casting this pair wasn’t always a sure thing, namely because the "Romeo + Juliet" actor wasn’t sure he wanted to take on his most iconic role. James Cameron spoke to Deadline about this process.

Jake Paul Is Already Trolling Mike Tyson Ahead Of Their Big Fight, And I Think He's Making A Big Mistake

Jake Paul has once again shocked the fighting world with the wild announcement he'll be boxing Mike Tyson on Netflix in a live event. The fight is set for July, and here we are in March with the two already trading jabs over the internet. After seeing them exchange some comments over social media, I can't help but wonder if Paul is making a huge mistake.

There are still quite a few months to go before we get to tune in live with our Netflix subscriptions and see Mike Tyson and Jake Paul throw down, but "The Problem Child" is already poking the bear and calling out Iron Mike on Instagram. The boxing legend gave a rather tame reply to Paul saying he's "put him to sleep," and Paul decided to double down and post another reply to Instagram Stories.

It Feels Too Early For Network TV To Start Canceling Shows, But NBC Just Got The Ball Rolling

The TV season looks a bit different this year, given that the since-resolved SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes had an impact on programming this year. With most shows returning in February this year, we’re truly still in the thick of 2024 network programming. Delays or not though, it’s a bit early to be thinking about cancellations at this point. However, such decisions have already been made over at NBC, it seems. The company got the ball rolling by dropping the ax on two series that fell under the umbrella of unscripted content.

NBC has officially canceled both "LA Fire and Rescue" and "Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge." The news comes by way of Deadline, which laid out the network’s plans for games shows during the coming summer. Both of the discarded shows made their debuts in 2023, and each only had one season. A formal reason for their exclusions from the 2024 TV schedule have not been given by the entertainment conglomerate.

Watch Keanu Reeves Throw Down His Nunchucks In Frustration During Grueling 'John Wick' Action Scene

The "John Wick" movies are well known for their action sequences and well known for the amount of work that Keanu Reeves puts in to make "John Wick" look like the unstoppable assassin that he is supposed to be. By the fourth movie, you might think that it’s all getting easy for him, but a new behind-the-scenes feature shows that isn’t quite the case.

"John Wick: Chapter 4" looks to up the ante of the action in a new feature posted to YouTube we get to see some of the work being put into that. This includes a sequence where Keanu fights with a set of nunchucks, which is a weapon we haven’t seen "John Wick" use before, and the video shows him getting frustrated when he’s unable to get the fight choreography down. Check it out here.

NASCAR's Bubba Wallace Says Ryan Blaney Is 'Super Jealous' Of His 'Star Wars'-Themed Car For Series Championship, But It's His Comments On Meeting Mark Hamill That Make Me Envious

NASCAR may be in Phoenix for its Cup Series Championship but, during the proceedings, there will be vibes similar to the galaxy far, far away, thanks to Bubba Wallace and Columbia. Wallace will take to the track in a custom-wrapped car made to look like the iconic X-Wing, which (as those who've watched the "Star Wars" movies in order know) was flown by Luke Skywalker. CinemaBlend had a chance to speak to Wallace about that ahead of the race and learned how he made fellow racer Ryan Blaney "super jealous" with his partnership. However, it's Wallace's encounter with Mark Hamill that has me super envious of him.

For those who may not know, Ryan Blaney is a 'Star Wars" superfan who has Darth Vader tattooed on his thigh. Blaney is also great friends with Bubba Wallace so, when the driver learned about Columbia's plans for the race and its latest clothing collaboration with "Star Wars," he couldn't help but be covet the sponsorship. Wallace discussed those feelings with CinemaBlend while also joking about how he managed to smooth things over with Blaney.
