Husband and wife plead not guilty to neglect leading to death of baby girl

A husband-and-wife pair of babysitters pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court in Johor Baru for allegedly neglecting a nine-month-old baby girl, which might have led to her death last month.

Lim Zhen Jie, 31, and Vivian Lau, 29, made the plea after the charge was read to them in Mandarin in front of Judge Rasidah Roslee on Tuesday (May 7).

정부, 인니 KF-21 분담금 1조원 삭감 수용 가닥

정부가 한국형 전투기 KF-21의 개발 분담금을 1조6천억원에서 6천억원으로 깎아달라는 인도네시아의 제안을 수용하는 쪽으로 가닥을 잡았습니다.

방위사업청은 오늘(8일) 국방부 취재진에 배포한 자료를 통해 "인도네시아 측이 납부할 수 있는 6천억원으로 조정을 추진 중"이라 밝혔습니다.

대신 줄어드는 분담금에 맞춰 인도네시아로 이전하는 기술 가치 규모도 조정하는 방안을 추진할 방침입니다.

최종 결론은 이르면 이달 말 열리는 방위사업추진위원회 회의에서 정해질 것으로 보입니다.

국민의힘이 원내대표 선출 절차를 진행하고 있습니다.

오늘은 후보자 정견 발표가 진행되는데요.

자세한 소식, 국회 취재기자 연결해 들어보겠습니다.

네, 원내대표 선거를 하루 앞두고 국민의힘이 후보자 정견 발표회를 진행하고 있습니다.

추경호 의원과 송석준 의원, 이종배 의원의 3파전인데요.

세 후보 모두 정통 관료 출신으로, 각각 대구·경북과 수도권, 충청권을 대표하는 중진 의원들입니다.

초선과 비례대표 당선인들, 그리고 의원들이 몰려있는 영남권의 표심 등이 당락에 영향을 줄 것으로 보이고요.

주류 친윤계의 선택도 주목됩니다.

거대 야당을 상대로 원내 협상을 주도해나갈 신임 원내대표에 누가 선출될지 이목이 집중되고 있습니다.

더불어민주당은 국회의장 후보 선출을 앞두고 있죠.

현재 진행 상황 어떤가요?

[기자]

어제부터 시작된 민주당 국회의장 후보자 등록이 오늘 오후 6시에 마감됩니다.

조정식 의원과 우원식 의원이 후보 접수를 마쳤고, 추미애 전 법무부 장관도 오늘 기자회견을 열고 출마를 확정 지었습니다.

앞서 국회의장 도전 의사를 밝힌 바 있는 정성호 의원 역시 후보 등록을 할 것으로 보이는 가운데, 출마를 고심 중인 박지원 전 국가정보원장이 경선의 막판 변수가 될지 관심사입니다.

후보 접수를 마친 민주당은 앞으로 일주일간 선거운동 기간을 거친 뒤, 오는 16일 후보를 뽑습니다.

내일은 윤석열 대통령의 취임 2주년 기자회견이 있죠.

국회에선 어떤 반응이 나왔나요?

[기자]

국민의힘에선 "국민과 대통령이 가까워지는 계기로 삼았으면 좋겠다"는 기대감 섞인 목소리가 나왔습니다.

국민의힘 황우여 비상대책위원장은 "윤 대통령이 솔직 담백하게 말하면 여러 가지 설이나 논쟁이 잠재워질 것"이라고 말했습니다.

반면 더불어민주당은 하루 전부터 날을 세우는 분위기입니다.

민주당 박찬대 원내대표는 '국민 25만 원 민생회복지원금 지급'과 '채 해병 특검법 전면 수용'을 촉구했습니다.

"대통령이 직접 말씀하시는 거니까요. 여러 가지 설이나 여러 가지 논쟁이 다 모든 것이 잠재워지겠죠."

한편 오늘 국회에서는 조국혁신당 검찰개혁 입법전략 토론회가 열렸습니다.

조국 대표는 현재 '검찰독재'라는 말이 과하지 않은 나라가 됐다며, 검찰의 수사와 기소 분리가 검찰 정상화의 핵심이라고 강조했습니다.

이 행사에 민주당 박찬대 신임 원내대표가 참석해 눈길을 끌었습니다.
