1MDB, subsidiaries file lawsuit against Rosmah for US$346mil

1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), SRC International Sdn Bhd and nine subsidiaries have filed a civil lawsuit against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor seeking US$346mil belonging to the company.

The plaintiffs claimed that Rosmah, the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, had used the funds from the companies to purchase luxury items such as jewellery, watches and handbags.

[자막뉴스] '이산화탄소 빨아들여 저장' 세계 최대 공장 가동됐지만... / YTN

아이슬란드에서 가동에 들어간 이산화탄소 포집 공장의 이름은 '매머드'.

이름에 걸맞게 기존 공장보다 거의 10배나 많은 양을 처리할 수 있는 세계 최대 규모입니다.

올해 말이면 연간 3만6천 톤의 이산화탄소를 걸러내 지하 7백 미터에 저장할 예정입니다.

이렇게 1톤을 비축할 때마다 생성되는 탄소배출권은 마이크로소프트나 레고, H&M 등 거래기업이 가져가게 됩니다.

시장의 확대는 이제 시작에 불과하다는 평가입니다.

이런 전망이 가능한 건 인류의 탄소 배출 감축 노력이 지지부진하기 때문입니다.

당장 배출량을 획기적으로 줄이지 못하니 해마다 수십억 톤의 탄소를 제거해야 한다는 게 많은 과학자의 생각입니다.

하지만 탄소 포집 방식에 대한 비판적 시각도 만만치 않습니다.

우선 지금의 기술 수준에선 경제성이 크게 떨어집니다.

경제성을 확보할 수 있는 포집 비용은 1톤에 100달러 정도지만, '매머드'의 경우, 1천 달러에 육박하고 있습니다.

공장 가동에 필요한 재생에너지를 확보하는 것도 쉽지 않은 문제입니다.

무엇보다 관련 업계의 낙관적 예측처럼 2050년에 포집 능력이 연간 20억 톤에 도달해도, 기후 위기를 막기엔 역부족입니다.

지난 한해 인류가 배출한 탄소는 400억 톤으로 추정됩니다.

각국 정부나 다국적 기업의 지원 아래 진행되는 대규모 탄소 포집 프로젝트는 대략 30개.

끊임없는 기술 고도화를 통해 기후 위기를 극복할 대안으로 자리 잡을 수 있을지 주목됩니다.

국세청이 쿠팡에 대해 특별 세무조사에 착수한 것으로 전해졌습니다.

서울지방국세청 국제거래조사국은 지난달 서울 쿠팡 본사에 조사관들을 보내 세무 자료를 확보했습니다.

쿠팡 측은 세무조사를 받고 있단 사실은 인정하면서도 특별 세무조사가 아닌 "통상적인 세무조사로 알고 있다"고 밝혔습니다.

국세청은 미국 법인인 쿠팡의 모회사와 계열사 간의 거래를 들여다보는 것으로 알려졌습니다.

'Abdullah al-Ansari reported: The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: I have been conferred upon five (things) which were not granted to anyone before me (and these are): Every apostle was sent particularly to his own people, whereas I have been sent to all the red and the black , and these were never made lawful to anyone before me, and the earth has been made sacred and pure and mosque for me, so whenever the time of prayer comes for any one of you he should pray whenever he is, and (by which the enemy is overwhelmed) from the distance (which one takes) one month to cover and I have been granted intercession.
